Ferran Torres had a first runout for the Spain Under-21s on Friday night, debuting in the 2021 European Championships qualifier against Kazakhstan.
The VCF Academy product, promoted from the Under-19s after signing off with two goals in the European Championships final this summer, featured as a second-half sub in the Friday evening game.
Shortly after coming on, with Spain 0-1 up, Torres won a penalty when he was brought down inside the box. Whilst FC Barcelona player Carles Aleña could not convert the spot kick, Spain held on for a win and their first three points of the campaign.
Next up for the Under-21s is a match on Tuesday, September 10th, against Montenegro, as they compete for a place in the 2021 tournament. Torres will then return to Valencia to prepare for his club's big LaLiga Matchday 4 game against Barça.
